Requirements for obtaining an emergency passport (in case of passport expiration)

  1. A photocopy of the expired passport and a photocopy of the family book.
  2. A photocopy of the identity card.
  3. Two recent photographs (the same size as passport photos).
  4. A money order for $45 made out to the Embassy.
  5. A letter from the attaché’s office with which the citizen is affiliated (cultural, military, etc.) requesting the emergency passport. Please provide the date of departure and the complete address and telephone numbers in the UAE by filling out the application for a travel document to return home (attached below).

Requirements for obtaining an emergency passport (in the event of loss of passport)

  1. A photocopy of the lost passport and a photocopy of the family book.
  2. A photocopy of the identity card.
  3. Two recent photographs (the same size as passport photos).
  4. A money order for $90 made out to the Consulate (for the certification of the police report and issuing the emergency passport).
  5. The original of the police report as evidence that the passport is lost (which the Consulate will certify).
  6. A letter from the attaché’s office with which the citizen is affiliated (cultural, military, etc.) requesting the emergency passport. Please provide the date of departure and the complete address and telephone numbers in the UAE by filling out the application for a travel document to return home (attached below).

Requirements for obtaining an emergency passport (in the event of damage to the passport)

  1. A photocopy of the damaged passport and a photocopy of the family book.
  2. A photocopy of the identity card.
  3. Two recent photographs (the same size as passport photos).
  4. A money order for $45 made out to the Consulate.
  5. Submission of damaged passport.
  6. A letter from the attaché’s office with which the citizen is affiliated (cultural, military, etc.) requesting the emergency passport. Please provide the date of departure and the complete address and telephone numbers in the UAE by filling out the application for a travel document to return home (attached below).

Requirements for obtaining an emergency passport (for a newborn child)

  1. A photocopy of the passport of each the father and the mother of the newborn; a photocopy of the family book in its entirety; and a photocopy of the marriage certificate (certified by the US Department of State and the Consulate) if the wife has not been entered in the family book.
  2. A photocopy of the father’s identity card.
  3. Two recent photographs of the newborn (the same size as passport photos).
  4. A money order for $45 made out to the Consulate.
  5. A copy of the birth certificate authenticated by the US institutions concerned and by the authentication section at the Consulate.
  6. A letter from the attaché’s office with which the citizen is affiliated (cultural, military, etc.) requesting the emergency passport. Please provide the date of departure and the complete address and telephone numbers in the UAE by filling out the application for a travel document to return home (attached below).

Requirements for authentication of a (general or special) power of attorney

  1. The original of the power of attorney (the text of the power of attorney should be typed in Arabic; handwritten powers of attorney will not be certified).
  2. Photocopies of the passports of the assigner and the assignee of the power of attorney. (The signature of the assigner on the power of attorney must match the signature on his passport.)
  3. A money order for $45 made out to the Consulate for each power of attorney.
  4. The certification of a US notary public of the signature of the assigner or the testimony of two qualified witnesses to the authenticity of the signature of the assigner, including the full names and signatures of the witnesses and photocopies of their passports, making sure that their signatures match their signatures on their passports.
  5. A letter from the attaché’s office with which the citizen is affiliated (cultural, military, etc.) requesting authentication of the power of attorney.

Requirements for the authentication of certificates (medical or scholastic)

  1. The original certificate with a photocopy of a valid passport.
  2. A letter from the attaché’s office with which the citizen is associated (cultural, military, etc.) affirming the authenticity of the certificate and the request for its authentication.
  3. A money order for $45 made out to the Consulate per certificate.

It's with great pleasure that we announce the implementation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation a Payment Gateway to support its valuable customers.

Through the Payment Gateway, you can perform a variety of payments for most of the services offered by United Arab Emirates foreign missions. This also offers you convenience of saving time and efforts in processing your transactions.

The Payment Gateway option can be accessed through the ministry`s main website:

Procedures are as follows:

1- Select desired service (Invoices, Attestation, etc.)

2- Companies and Individuals must create a new user profile under New Registration

  • Companies can leave Emirates ID blank

3- Fill out form on website

4- Enter Payment Card Details and Complete Payment Process

  • Only VISA and MasterCard accepted

5- Drop off or mail in original documents to the Boston Consulate

6- Consular Specialist will then:

  • Check Invoice

  • Verify Validity of Akin Gump Stamp

  • E-Label to be printed and pasted on document

  • E-Label will then be signed and stamped by Consul General

  • Document to be returned to customer

7- The Status of the Application can be viewed under Pending Applications

Notes:

  1. The Consulate does not issue or renew passports; it issues emergency passport documents valid for one month from the date of issue which enable the bearer to travel to the UAE only.
  2. Please allow three business days for the consular section to complete processing the application, except in the case of travel documents which are issued after securing the approval of the government and require more time.
  3. Please provide a stamped and self-addressed envelope in which the documents concerned may be mailed (in the case of those not affiliated with an attaché’s office).
